From
time to time, it is necessary to use chemicals to control certain
pests and weeds. This section provides information for a majority
of the chemicals that we apply. This allows our customers to have
access to information about the various chemicals that may be applied
during routine maintenance visits.
Almost
all of the pesticides and herbicides that we use can be purchased
by any homeowner. However, there are some differences. Chemicals
purchased by professional applicators generally have a higher concentration
of active ingredient. Most chemicals available to homeowners come
in a ready to use formula, or is formulated for dilution in a small
garden sprayer. Because of the volume of spraying done by professional
applicators, the chemicals available to us tend to be higher in
concentration, and are generally available in larger quantities.
It is the responsibility of the applicator to dilute the chemical
according to how much is needed for the job. It is important to
point out that all applicators, including homeowners, should read
and follow the directions on the label.
Although
Cedar Cove Landscaping currently holds a commercial pesticide applicators
license, and is licensed to purchase and apply restricted use pesticides,
we have found that most problems can be solved without resulting
to the use of these chemicals. However, it is a good idea to make
sure anyone applying pesticides has had the proper training, and
has a commercial pesticide applicators license. To search for a
licensed commercial pesticide applicator, click
